Basil and Sage Turkey Patties
- 500 grams of turkey mince, free range or organic is best
- 3-5 large sage leaves
- A good handful of fresh basil
- 1/2 an onion
- A few leaves of spinach
- And of cabbage
- Organic worcestershire sauce – a dash
- Organic dark honey – a teaspoon
- Real salt and pepper
- Sweet paprika; ground
- 3 eggs
- A dash of coconut flour
Chop fine and then saute (in coconut oil) the onion, cabbage and spinach, as well as the fresh herbs. Any other veggies would be fine instead if you prefer.
Allow to cool.
Mix with all other ingredients. Use your hands, don’t try and get fancy!
Form into patties and place on a large tray. If you can wait, put them in the fridge for an hour or so before cooking; they’ll stay better formed.
Fry in well heated coconut oil over a moderate heat for about 3-5 minutes each side. Keep an eye on them as I burned mine the first time!
Did you know?
Continually eating the same foods over and over again can not only make life a little dull, but it can actually create food intolerances and cause you to have to eliminate your favourite foods 🙁 eggs, beef and chicken are prime candidates for this, particularly if you’re on a high protein diet.
Try some turkey, rabbit, kanga or goat today and give your body a break!
