Paleo Beef Schnitzel


Serves 3

  • 6 pieces of rump beef, organic, bashed out for schnitzels. The butcher can do this for you
  • 1/2 a cup of ground flaxseed meal
  • 1/4 cup of rice flour
  • Shredded coconut
  • Pink salt, and pepper
  • Herbs of your choice i.e.oregano and rosemary, dried
  • 2 eggs


Beat eggs for a few seconds in a bowl. Place all meat in the eggs, and work the meat until each piece is well covered.

Mix all other ingredients in a separate bowl. Dip each eggy piece of steak into the dry mix.

Set aside on a plate.

Fry over a moderate-high temperature, in coconut oil. A few minutes each side, and you can put them in a baking dish in a moderate oven afterwards if you’d like to crunch them up a little. For 5-10 minutes.

Serve with a salad of rocket and cucumber.

Did you know?

This recipe can be easily modified to use veal, chicken, even lamb. Get creative! You can also serve it with some cheese and prosciutto on top, like a parmiagiana. I’d add some fresh chopped tomatoes and basil. Amazing!
